What Does The Star Rating on Heating and Air Conditioning mean ?
The Energy Rating Label, regulated by the Australian government, has been in existence for over 30 years, which means you can check the energy efficiency and running expenses of Heating and Air Conditioning equipment before your purchase.
The star rating is based on energy efficiency. That is the efficiency of one Gas Ducted Heater or Air Conditioner when compared to other models of similar size.
The more stars mean that the model is more efficient when compared with other models of the same size.
The majority of products are graded between 1 to 6 stars. But technology is constantly improving… and so is energy efficiency!
This is the reason you’ll find models that are incredibly efficient at stores and on the internet with extra rows for stars, which could have as many as 10 Stars.
Always decide the dimension (or capacity) model you want first, and then utilise an evaluation of stars to assess the models.
What Does Energy Consumption Mean?
The energy consumption of a model is based on the amount of energy an item consumes.
It is based on standardised tests which are legally required and conducted in accordance with the standard Australian Standard and New Zealand Standard.
It is possible to use the energy consumption figure to assess any model regardless of its size (KW capacity).
The lower the consumption amount of a model, the less it runs, plus the lesser you spend on your electric bill.
Selecting an appliance that has a lower energy usage will lower the cost of electricity.
