My Air Conditioning is not working .. What should I do?

In Melbourne we heavily rely on our air conditioning systems to provide relief from the heat during our hot summer days, which can reach 43°C .

While many major repairs may be prevented by having the system regularly maintained and inspected, some problems are unpreventable and they require professional intervention.

Below are a few tips we would like to share with you in the event that your Air Conditioning system experiences a lose in its cooling performance or just wont work at all….

  • Check your electrical supply: Make sure that you haven’t merely blown a fuse or tripped the circuit breaker. You might also try checking that  the electrical isolation switches haven’t been accidentally turned off…They are usually in the vicinity of the outdoor unit.
  • Check your thermostat: Make sure that your thermostat switched for COOL mode, and that it seems to be working properly. A flat thermostat battery is a possible cause of a breakdown too.
  • Check your return air filter. A blocked or dirty return air filter will reduce the performance of your air conditioning system. Most filters just need to be brushed free of dust. But on the odd occasion washing in warm soapy water may be required.
  • Call a professional: Call Dynamic Heating and Cooling who has the experience and training necessary to repair your air conditioning system.

We hope this brief guide helps you, but a professional, hands-on diagnosis maybe the only way to understand what’s actually going on with your system.
