Turn you thermostat down !! Loose Weight, Save Money

Do you need an incentive to turn your heating thermostat down?

If saving money on your gas bills and reducing your dependence on fossil fuels isn’t enough, recent research suggests that you can lose weight by turning the heating temperature down by a degree or two.
We all want to be comfortable in our homes, but it turns out that being a little chilly might have its benefits .

The human body needs fuel in the way of kilojoules to convert to energy to warm itself. Over the course of our evolution, humans were exposed to more cold  than we experience in our modern world, Our winter usually consists of us commuting in a heated car between a heated home and heated office. When a body no longer needs to work to warm itself, those Kilojoules turn to stored energy.. I.E.  Body Fat

Our healthy body temperature remains constant at  37°C and it takes a lot of energy to keep it that way. This is not different to the way you heat your house.
If your body requires extra heat..that means extra energy is required .. the metabolism kicks in and lights the fire within us..drawing on our energy reserves..

Dynamic Heating and Cooling suggests that keeping the temperature somewhere between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius is enough to get your metabolism started and keep it working to warm you.

If turning the thermostat down doesn’t do the trick, you may consider a more dramatic option. It is claimed that you can burn 1050 kJ in an hour by wearing the chilling garment.

For consumers looking to shed a few kilograms, turning down the thermostat is worth a shot. Even if the weight-loss program doesn’t work out, the worst thing that could happen is you save a few dollars on your heating bills.
